Clara is combining her textile past and ceramics present to create vessels that decorate the home. Working with simple forms, the interest for her is the desire to touch and feel the ceramic surface. Using found and made textures, she applies these to her clay surfaces to create surface relief. Glaze is then applied which highlights these patterns.
Duck Ceramics is an independent pottery studio run by Alice Duck,
Simplicity and function are at the core of her work. She likes to re-imagine classic shapes and divert them from their original purpose into a design piece. A camping mug has been transformed into an object of delicate craftsmanship, and it's natural 'mistakes' have been left on show to celebrate the process, just as she believes they should be.
After establishing Planet Ceramics Tobago Ltd and living in Tobago for 11 years, Helen Evans returned to the UK to set up a studio in London.
The aim of Planet Ceramics London is to hand craft functional and decorative products, out of clay, to enhance your environment and everyday life. Hopefully moving the product range forward by having a wider access to materials and gaining more experience from being in a creative environment.
Helen is currently working between Tobago and London.
Sevak Zargarian is a London based ceramic designer maker, currently producing the Unearthed Interiors range from his garden studio, with an aim to create beautiful objects for the home. Shortlisted for the Homes & Gardens Young Designer Award 2015 and having designed and made a range of light pendants for Heals, a selection of his work is now stocked in the Barbican Centre.
The patterns of the pieces are produced through the casting process, where the coloured chips are dispersed within the clay. Surfaces are sanded and polished to bring out the colour and random pattern, making each piece truly unique.
